حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ: كَانَ رَجُلٌ يَقْرَأُ فِي دَارِهِ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِ حِصَانٌ لَهُ مَرْبُوطٌ بِشَطَنَيْنِ، حَتَّى غَشِيَتْهُ سَحَابَةٌ، فَجَعَلَتْ تَدْنُو وَتَدْنُو حَتَّى جَعَلَ فَرَسُهُ يَنْفِرُ مِنْهَا، قَالَ الرَّجُلُ: فَعَجِبْتُ لِذَلِكَ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ وَقَصَّ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " تِلْكَ السَّكِينَةُ تَنَزَّلَتْ لِلْقُرْآنِ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man was reciting Surah Al-Kahf, and there was an animal (a horse) tied in the house. Suddenly, it started to become restless. The man looked and saw that there was a cloud or canopy that had covered him. He mentioned this to the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), so the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O so-and-so! Keep reciting, for that was tranquility (sakinah) which descends at the time of the recitation of the Noble Qur’an."
