English translation
It is narrated from Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When you come to your bed, say like this: O Allah, I have submitted myself to You, turned my face towards You, entrusted my affairs to You, and relied on You alone for support. My desire is for You, and I fear You. There is no refuge or sanctuary except with You. I have believed in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent. If the one who says these words dies that night, he will die upon the natural faith. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain. However, at the end of this narration, there is this addition: The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Perform ablution as you do for prayer, and say these words at the very end. I repeated these words before the Noble Prophet. When I reached “I have believed in Your Book which You have revealed,” I said, “and in Your Messenger.” The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: No, say “and in Your Prophet.”
