Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَشْعَثُ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ: مَرَّ بِي عَمِّي الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو وَمَعَهُ لِوَاءٌ قَدْ عَقَدَهُ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: أَيْ عَمِّ، أَيْنَ بَعَثَكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: " بَعَثَنِي إِلَى رَجُلٍ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةَ أَبِيهِ، فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَضْرِبَ عُنُقَهُ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day I met my uncle Harith bin Amr, and he had a flag with him. I asked him, "Where are you going?" He replied, "The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) has sent us to a man who, after his father's death, has married his father's wife (stepmother), and he has commanded us to kill him."
