Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that we had the honor of sitting in the company of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), and we heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) saying: The first tribulations of the Day of Judgment will appear like the parts of a dark night. In that era, a man will be a Muslim in the morning and a disbeliever in the evening, or a Muslim in the evening and a disbeliever in the morning, and people will sell their religion and morals for a small portion of worldly goods and possessions. Hasan says: By Allah! We are seeing such people; they have forms but no intellect, bodies but no wisdom. They are like moths of the fire and flies of greed and desire, who become happy with two dirhams in the morning and evening, and are ready to sell their religion for the price of a goat.
