Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ), there was once a solar eclipse. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) would perform two rak'ahs of prayer and inquire about the situation from the people, then perform two rak'ahs and inquire about the situation, until the sun became completely bright. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: In the age of ignorance, people used to say that if either the moon or the sun is eclipsed, it is due to the death of a great person among the people of the earth, whereas there is no such thing. Both of these are Allah's creations; however, when Allah manifests His glory to His creation, it bows down before Him.
