Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ،، ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ، يَخْطُبُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: " أَحْمَدُ اللهَ تَعَالَى، فَرُبَّمَا أَتَى عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الشَّهْرُ، يَظَلُّ يَتَلَوَّى، مَا يَشْبَعُ مِنَ الدَّقَلِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Simak bin Harb (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I heard Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) saying on the pulpit of Kufa: By Allah! The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) never filled his stomach with inferior dates for even a single month.
