حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُحِلِّ بْنِ خَلِيفَةَ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ: قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَدِيَّ بْنَ حَاتِمٍ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا، فَبِكَلِمَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ " وَقَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ: " فَبِكَلِمَةٍ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever among you can save himself from Hell, even if it be by giving only a piece of date, then he should do so. If he does not find even that, then he should speak a good word.
