Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was with the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) on a journey. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) asked me, “Do you have water?” I replied, “Yes!” Then the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) dismounted from his ride and went away to relieve himself and disappeared from my sight; now I could not see the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). After a short while, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) returned, and I presented water to him and kept pouring it. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) first washed both hands thoroughly, then washed his face. After that, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) began to roll up his sleeves, but the Syrian cloak that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) was wearing had tight sleeves, so they could not be rolled up. Thus, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) took both hands out from underneath, and washed his face and hands, wiped his head to the extent of the forehead, wiped over his turban, and wiped over his turban again. Then, when I reached out to remove his leather socks, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Leave them; I put them on in a state of ablution.” Thus, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) wiped over them.
