حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، أَنَّ آخِرَ مَا فَارَقَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ قَالَ: " إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ بِقَوْمٍ فَخَفِّفْ بِهِمْ، حَتَّى وَقَّتَ لِي اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Uthman bin Abi Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the last time he took leave from the Prophet (ﷺ), the Prophet (ﷺ) said: When you lead people in prayer, make it light, to the extent that the Prophet (ﷺ) specified for me the length of Surah "Iqra' bismi rabbika allathee khalaq."
