حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، قَالَ: أَتَيْنَا عُثْمَانَ بْنَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، لِنَعْرِضَ عَلَيْهِ مُصْحَفًا لَنَا عَلَى مُصْحَفِهِ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ فَلَيْسَ شَيْءٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَجُنُّ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدًا، وَقَالَ ذَابَ كَمَا يَذُوبُ الرَّصَاصُ (١)،
Translation
English translation
Narrated to us by ‘Affan, narrated to us by Hammad ibn Salamah, narrated to us by ‘Ali ibn Zayd, from Abu Nadrah, who said: We came to ‘Uthman ibn Abi al-‘As to compare our mushaf with his mushaf, and he mentioned its meaning, except that he said: "So on that day, nothing will shield any of them." And he said: "It melted as lead melts."
