حَدِيثُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ١٧٨٩٧ - حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ، أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ حَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ صَلَاتِي، وَبَيْنَ قِرَاءَتِي، قَالَ: " ذَاكَ شَيْطَانٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ: خَنْزَبٌ، فَإِذَا أَنْتَ حَسَسْتَهُ، فَتَعَوَّذْ بِاللهِ مِنْهُ، وَاتْفُلْ عَنْ يَسَارِكَ ثَلَاثًا "، قَالَ: فَفَعَلْتُ ذَاكَ، فَأَذْهَبَهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَنِّي (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
On one occasion, Uthman bin Abi Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted in the court of the Messenger (ﷺ), "O Messenger of Allah! (peace be upon him) Satan comes between me and my prayer and recitation." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The name of that Satan is Khanzab. When you feel this, recite 'A'udhu billah' and spit lightly three times to your left." He says, "I did so, and Allah removed it from me." The previous hadith is narrated through this second chain.
