Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ، عَنِ الرَّبَابِ أُمِّ الرَّائِحِ بِنْتِ صُلَيْعٍ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الضَّبِّيِّ، قال: قال رسول الله صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا أَفْطَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَى تَمْرٍ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَى مَاءٍ، ، فَإِنَّهُ طَهُورٌ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated in a mawquf form from Salman bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when any one of you breaks his fast, he should do so with dates; if dates are not available, then he should break his fast with water, for water is purifying.
