Translation

English translation

Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) once asked one of his slaves the reason for seeking permission from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to meet his wife, Asma bint Umais (may Allah be pleased with her). So Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade us from going to women without the permission of their husbands.
