حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، وَحَجَّاجٌ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: أُسِرَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ (٢) ، قَالَ: فَجَعَلَ عَمْرٌو يَسْأَلُهُ يُعْجِبُهُ أَنْ يَدَّعِيَ أَمَانًا، قَالَ: فَقَالَ عَمْرٌو: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يُجِيرُ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَدْنَاهُمْ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Muhammad bin Abi Bakr was brought as a captive. Amr began to ask him questions; he wished that he would seek protection from him. So he said that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Even the lowest-ranking Muslim can grant protection to someone on behalf of all Muslims (and then his protection will be the responsibility of all Muslims).
