حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي، يَقُولُ: بَلَغَنِي عَنْ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ الْمُدْلِجِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ: " يَا سُرَاقَةُ، أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ بِأَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَأَهْلِ النَّارِ؟ " قَالَ: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ. قَالَ: " أَمَّا أَهْلُ النَّارِ، فَكُلُّ جَعْظَرِيٍّ جَوَّاظٍ مُسْتَكْبِرٍ، وَأَمَّا أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الضُّعَفَاءُ الْمَغْلُوبُونَ " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Suraqah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Suraqah! Shall I not tell you about the people of Paradise and the people of Hell?" He replied, "Why not, O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ)" The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The people of Hell will be every harsh-hearted, ill-tempered, and arrogant person, and the people of Paradise will be those who are weak and subdued."
