حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الضَّالَّةِ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ تَغْشَى حِيَاضِي، قَدْ لُطْتُهَا للِإِبِلٍ (٢) ، هَلْ لِي مِنْ أَجْرٍ فِي شَأْنِ مَا أَسْقِيهَا؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ، فِي كُلِّ ذَاتِ كَبِدٍ حَرَّى (٣) أَجْرٌ " (٤)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Suraqah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about the stray camels that come to my pond—will I get a reward for giving them water? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Yes! There is reward in every living being with a moist liver.
