حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ،، ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْكَيِّ، وَكَانَ يَكْرَهُ شُرْبَ الْحَمِيمِ، وَكَانَ إِذَا اكْتَحَلَ اكْتَحَلَ وِتْرًا، وَإِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ اسْتَجْمَرَ وِتْرًا " (١)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade branding (with fire), and he (peace be upon him) disliked drinking hot water. When he applied kohl, he would do so in odd numbers, and when he used incense, he would also use it in odd numbers.
