حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّ مِشْرَحَ بْنَ هَاعَانَ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " لَوْ كَانَ مِنْ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ، لَكَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: If there were to be a prophet after me, it would have been Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him).
