حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنَا قَبَاثُ بْنُ رَزِينٍ اللَّخْمِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ رَبَاحٍ اللَّخْمِيَّ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ، يَقُولُ: كُنَّا جُلُوسًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ نَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ، فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا، فَرَدَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " تَعَلَّمُوا كِتَابَ اللهِ وَاقْتَنُوهُ - قَالَ قُبَاثٌ: وَحَسِبْتُهُ قَالَ - وَتَغَنُّوا بِهِ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ، لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَلُّتًا مِنَ الْمَخَاضِ مِنَ الْعُقُلِ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were sitting in the mosque reciting the Holy Qur'an when the Prophet (ﷺ) came to us and greeted us with salam. We replied to him, then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Acquire the knowledge of the Book of Allah, hold firmly to it, and recite it with melody. By the One in whose hand is the life of Muhammad, this Qur'an slips away even faster than camels that are untied from their enclosures.
