حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ الزُّرَقِيِّ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ، " أَنَّ النَّاسَ كَانُوا يُكْرُونَ الْمَزَارِعَ فِي زَمَانِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْمَاذِيَانَاتِ وَمَا سَقَى الرَّبِيعُ وَشَيْءٍ مِنَ التِّبْنِ، فَكَرِهَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كِرَاءَ الْمَزَارِعِ بِهَذَا، وَنَهَى عَنْهَا " قَالَ رَافِعٌ: " وَلَا بَأْسَ بِكِرَائِهَا بِالدَّرَاهِمِ وَالدَّنَانِيرِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the blessed era of the Prophet (ﷺ), people used to lease cultivable land in exchange for vegetables, water channels, and some husk. The Prophet (ﷺ) did not consider it good to lease it in exchange for these things, so he forbade it. However, there is no harm in leasing it in exchange for dirhams and dinars.
