Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Rafi’ bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I submitted in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ) Tomorrow we will face our enemy (animals), while we do not have any knife? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whatever thing, besides teeth and nails, causes the animal’s blood to flow and Allah’s name is mentioned over it, you may eat it. And let me tell you the reason: teeth are bone and nails are the knives of the Abyssinians. During this time, some camels were received as spoils of war, among which one camel ran away. People tried very hard to control it but could not succeed. Finally, a man aimed and shot an arrow at it and brought it under control. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: These animals also sometimes become wild just as wild animals become furious. When you are overpowered by an animal, do the same with it.
