حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ،، ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، قَالَ: ثِنْتَانِ حَفِظْتُهُمَا مِنْ (١) رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ كَتَبَ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ، وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذِّبِيْحَةَ (٢) ، وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ، وَلْيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have memorized two things from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): Allah Almighty has prescribed kindness in everything. Therefore, when you kill (in the battlefield), kill in a good manner, and when you slaughter an animal, slaughter it well. You should sharpen your knife and give comfort to your animal.
