حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ صَنَعَ طَعَامًا، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " ائْتِنِي أَنْتَ وَخَمْسَةٌ مَعَكَ " قَالَ: فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ: " ائْذَنْ لِي فِي السَّادِسِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was a man among the Ansar whose name was Abu Shu'aib. One day, he prepared food and sent a message to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) inviting him to come with five men. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Allow me to bring a sixth as well."
