Translation

English translation

Aamir says that (on the occasion of the Pledge of Aqabah) the Prophet (peace be upon him) along with his uncle Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reached near seventy Ansar individuals under a tree at a mountain pass and said: Let your spokesman speak, but do not speak at length because the polytheists have appointed spies over you; if they find out, they will defame you. So one of them, that is, Abu Umamah, spoke: O Muhammad (peace be upon you)! First, present whatever demands you wish from your Lord, for yourself, and for your companions, then tell us what reward we will have from Allah and from you if we fulfill your demands? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: For my Lord, I demand from you that you worship Him alone, associate nothing with Him, and for myself and my companions, I demand that you give us shelter, help us, and protect us just as you protect yourselves. They asked: If we do this, what will we get? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "You will get Paradise." They said: Then we have made this promise to you.
