English translation
Faseelah, a woman, narrates from her father that she asked the Prophet (peace be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! Is it also considered 'asabiyyah (tribalism) if a person loves his own people?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: "No, 'asabiyyah is that a person helps his people in wrongdoing." Imam Ahmad's son says that he heard from the scholars that Faseelah's father was Waathilah (may Allah be pleased with him), and then his father also mentioned this hadith at the end of the narrations of Waathilah (may Allah be pleased with him), so I think that this is indeed the hadith of Waathilah (may Allah be pleased with him).
