حَدَّثَنَا عَارِمُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ، عَنِ الْغَرِيفِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ، قَالَ: أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَفَرٌ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ فَقَالُوا: إِنَّ صَاحِبًا لَنَا أَوْجَبَ. قَالَ: " فَلْيُعْتِقْ رَقَبَةً يَفْدِي اللهُ بِكُلِّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهَا عُضْوًا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) that some people from Banu Sulaym once came to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "One of our companions has made the fire of Hell obligatory upon himself by killing a person.?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "He should free a slave, so that Allah Almighty will free each of his limbs from the fire of Hell in exchange for each limb of that slave."
