حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ، يَخْطُبُ فِي ظِلِّ الْكَعْبَةِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ حُلِيِّ الذَّهَبِ وَلُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Abdullah bin Ali says that once I heard Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) in Makkah Mukarramah, under the shade of the Ka'bah, saying from the pulpit that the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade men from wearing gold and silk.
