حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا تُبَادِرُونِي فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ، فَإِنِّي قَدْ بَدَّنْتُ، وَمَهْمَا أَسْبِقْكُمْ (١) بِهِ إِذَا رَكَعْتُ تُدْرِكُونِي إِذَا رَفَعْتُ، وَمَهْمَا أَسْبِقْكُمْ بِهِ إِذَا سَجَدْتُ تُدْرِكُونِي إِذَا رَفَعْتُ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Do not perform bowing (ruku) or prostration (sajdah) before me, because when I bow before you, you will catch up with me in bowing before I raise my head, and when I prostrate before you, you will catch up with me in prostration before I raise my head. I am saying this because now my body has become heavy."
