حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ، ، مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ لِي أَسْمَاءً، أَنَا أَحْمَدُ، وَأَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، وَأَنَا الْمَاحِي الَّذِي يَمْحُو اللهُ بِي الْكُفْرَ، وَأَنَا الْحَاشِرُ الَّذِي يُحْشَرُ النَّاسُ عَلَى قَدَمِي، وَأَنَا الْعَاقِبُ " (١) قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ: قُلْتُ لِلزُّهْرِيِّ: مَا الْعَاقِبُ؟ قَالَ: " الَّذِي لَيْسَ بَعْدَهُ نَبِيٌّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jubair that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: I have several names, I am Muhammad, I am Ahmad, I am Hashir, at whose feet people will be gathered, I am Mahi, through whom disbelief will be erased, and I am Aqib. I asked Imam Zuhri about the meaning of Aqib: so he said: After whom there will be no prophet (peace be upon him).
