حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ،، ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ، " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَسْلَمَ أَنْ يُؤَذِّنَ فِي النَّاسِ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ مَنْ (١) كَانَ صَائِمًا فَلْيُتِمَّ صَوْمَهُ وَمَنْ كَانَ أَكَلَ فَلَا يَأْكُلْ شَيْئًا وَلِيُتِمَّ صَوْمَهُ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered a man from the tribe of Aslam on the day of ‘Ashura to announce among the people that whoever is fasting today should complete his fast, and whoever has eaten or drunk something should not eat anything further and should complete the fast until the end of its time.
