حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ قَالَ: " شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ يَسْتَسْقِي، فَوَلَّى ظَهْرَهُ النَّاسَ وَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ، وَحَوَّلَ رِدَاءَهُ، وَجَعَلَ يَدْعُو، وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَجَهَرَ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out to pray Salat al-Istisqa (prayer for rain). On that occasion, he turned his cloak around while facing the Qiblah, and he led two rak‘ahs with loud recitation.
