حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي يَعْلَى بْنُ، ، عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ وَكِيعِ بْنِ حُدُسٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي رَزِينٍ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَيْنَ كَانَ رَبُّنَا عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ؟ قَالَ: " فِي عَمَاءٍ مَا فَوْقَهُ هَوَاءٌ، وَمَا تَحْتَهُ هَوَاءٌ، ثُمَّ خَلَقَ عَرْشَهُ عَلَى الْمَاءِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Razin that I asked: O Messenger of Allah! Where was our Lord before He created the creation? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: He was in an unknown place, and above and below Him there was only emptiness. Then He created His Throne upon the water.
