حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: إِنَّ الَّذِي قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا خَلِيلًا سِوَى اللهِ حَتَّى أَلْقَاهُ لَاتَّخَذْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ " (١) جَعَلَ الْجَدَّ، ، أَبًا،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Zubair that the Prophet (ﷺ) once said regarding that person: If I were to take anyone from this Ummah as my close friend (khalil) other than my Lord, I would have taken Ibn Abi Quhafah. They have considered the grandfather as the father.
