حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا أُسَيْدٍ كَانَ يَقُولُ: أَصَبْتُ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ سَيْفَ ابْنِ عَايذِ الْمَرْزُبَانِ، فَلَمَّا " أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النَّاسَ (٢) أَنْ يَؤُدُّوا (٣) مَا فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ "، أَقْبَلْتُ بِهِ حَتَّى أَلْقَيْتُهُ فِي النَّفَلِ، قَالَ: " وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَمْنَعُ شَيْئًا يُسْأَلُهُ "، قَالَ: فَعَرَفَهُ الْأَرْقَمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَرْقَمِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ فَسَأَلَهُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ، قَالَ: قُرِئَ عَلَى يَعْقُوبَ فِي مَغَازِي أَبِيهِ، أَوْ سَمَاعٌ، قَالَ ابْنُ إِسْحَاقَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي بَعْضُ بَنِي سَاعِدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ مَالِكِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، قَالَ: أَصَبْتُ سَيْفَ بَنِي عَايذ الْمَخْزُومِيِّينَ الْمَرْزُبَانِ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ، فَلَمَّا أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النَّاسَ أَنْ يُؤَدُّوا مَا فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ مِنَ النَّفَلِ، أَقْبَلْتُ بِهِ حَتَّى أَلْقَيْتُهُ فِي النَّفَلِ، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَمْنَعُ شَيْئًا يُسْأَلُهُ، فَعَرَفَهُ الْأَرْقَمُ بْنُ أَبِي، ، الْأَرْقَمِ فَسَأَلَهُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Usaid Sa'idi that on the day of the Battle of Badr, the sword of Ibn Abid came into my hands. The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered the people to return whatever they had, so I brought the sword and placed it among the spoils of war. It was the blessed habit of the Prophet (ﷺ) that if anyone asked him for something, he would not refuse. Arqam bin Abi Arqam recognized this sword and requested it from the Prophet (ﷺ), and the Prophet (ﷺ) gave him that sword. It is narrated from Abu Usaid Sa'idi that on the day of the Battle of Badr, the sword of Ibn Abid came into my hands.
