أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ ذَكْوَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " خَيْرُ دُورِ الْأَنْصَارِ بَنُو النَّجَّارِ، ثُمَّ بَنُو عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ، ثُمَّ بَنُو الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ، ثُمَّ بَنُو سَاعِدَةَ " ثُمَّ قَالَ: " وَفِي كُلِّ دُورِ الْأَنْصَارِ خَيْرٌ " فَقَالَ سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ: " جَعَلَنَا (١) رَابِعَ أَرْبَعَةٍ أَسْرِجُوا لِي حِمَارِي "، فَقَالَ ابْنُ أَخِيهِ: أَتُرِيدُ أَنْ تَرُدَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ حَسْبُكَ أَنْ تَكُونَ رَابِعَ أَرْبَعَةٍ (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Usaid Sa‘idi that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: The best household among the Ansar is that of Banu Najjar, then Banu ‘Abd al-Ashhal, then Banu Harith bin Khazraj, then Banu Sa‘idah, and indeed, there is goodness and blessing in every house of the Ansar. Upon this, Sa‘d bin ‘Ubadah said: The Prophet (ﷺ) has placed us fourth among the four; saddle my donkey for me. Then his nephew said: Do you want to reject the words of the Prophet (ﷺ)? It is enough for you that you are the fourth among the four.
