Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Wathilah that one day I was present in the service of the Prophet (ﷺ), when a man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I have committed one of the limits set by Allah, so impose the punishment on me." The Prophet (ﷺ) turned away from him; this happened three times. After that, the prayer was established. After completing the prayer, he came again for the fourth time and repeated his statement. The Prophet (ﷺ) called him near and asked, "Did you not perform ablution well and join us in the prayer just now?" He said, "Why not!" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Go, for this is the expiation for your sin."
