Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جَرْهَدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: مَرَّ بِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا كَاشِفٌ فَخِذِي، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " غَطِّهَا فَإِنَّهَا مِنَ الْعَوْرَةِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jarid that once he was sitting with his thigh uncovered. The Prophet (ﷺ) passed by and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Cover it, for the thigh is 'awrah (a part that must be covered).
