حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، وَهَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ جَوْنِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْمُحَبِّقِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِبَيْتٍ بِفِنَائِهِ قِرْبَةٌ مُعَلَّقَةٌ فَاسْتَسْقَى، فَقِيلَ: إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ، قَالَ: " ذَكَاةُ الْأَدِيمِ دِبَاغُهُ " (١)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Salamah that once the Prophet (ﷺ) passed by a house in the courtyard of which a water-skin was hanging. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked those people for water to drink. They said, "This is the skin of a dead animal." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Tanning purifies the skin."
