حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَبِيبَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: " كُنَّا نُكْرِي الْأَرْضَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، بِمَا عَلَى السَّوَاقِي مِنَ الزَّرْعِ، وَبِمَا سَعِدَ بِالْمَاءِ مِنْهَا، فَنَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، وَأَذِنَ لَنَا - أَوْ رَخَّصَ - بِأَنْ نُكْرِيَهَا بِالذَّهَبِ وَالْوَرِقِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Sa’d bin Malik said:
We used to rent out farmland at the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in return for what grew by the streams and what was irrigated with water from them, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade us to do that and permitted us to lease it for gold or silver.
