حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، لَمَّا تَابَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ لَمْ يُنْجِنِي إِلَّا بِالصِّدْقِ، وَإِنَّ مِنْ تَوْبَتِي إِلَى اللهِ أَنْ لَا أَكْذِبَ أَبَدًا، وَإِنِّي أَنْخَلِعُ مِنْ مَالِي صَدَقَةً لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ بَعْضَ مَالِكَ فَإِنَّهُ خَيْرٌ لَكَ " قَالَ: فَإِنِّي أُمْسِكُ سَهْمِي مِنْ خَيْبَرَ (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Allah accepted his repentance, he came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: Allah has saved me only through the blessing of truthfulness, and now as part of my repentance, I will never lie again. I dedicate all my wealth for Allah and His Messenger. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: It would be better if you keep some of it for yourself. He said: Then I will keep my share from Khaybar for myself.
