Sanan bin Abi Sinan says that once I heard Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) saying during a sermon while standing that your brother, that is, Ibn Rawahah, does not compose frivolous poetry. These verses were composed by him: Among us is Allah’s Messenger who recites to us Allah’s Book; when the bright morning separates from the darkness of night. He spends the night in such a way that his side remains away from the bed, while the disbelievers are weighed down on their beds. After misguidance, he showed us the path of guidance, and now our hearts are certain that whatever he says will surely come to pass.
