حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ سَرِيعٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَلَا أُنْشِدُكَ مَحَامِدَ حَمِدْتُ بِهَا رَبِّي تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى؟ قَالَ: " أَمَا إِنَّ رَبَّكَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُحِبُّ الْحَمْدَ " (١)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aswad bin Sari’ that once I presented myself before the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have composed some verses in praise of my Lord and in your praise. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Your Lord likes to be praised.
