حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سَبْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَبْرَةَ الْجُهَنِيِّ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: أَذِنَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمُتْعَةِ، قَالَ: فَانْطَلَقْتُ أَنَا وَرَجُلٌ هُوَ أَكْبَرُ مِنِّي سِنًّا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَقِينَا (٢) فَتَاةً (٣) مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ كَأَنَّهَا بَكْرَةٌ عَيْطَاءُ،، ، فَعَرَضْنَا عَلَيْهَا أَنْفُسَنَا، فَقَالَتْ: مَا تَبْذُلَانِ؟ قَالَ: كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنَّا رِدَائِي، قَالَ: وَكَانَ رِدَاءُ صَاحِبِي أَجْوَدَ مِنْ رِدَائِي، وَكُنْتُ أَشَبَّ مِنْهُ، قَالَ: (١) فَجَعَلَتْ تَنْظُرُ إِلَى رِدَاءِ صَاحِبِي، ثُمَّ قَالَتْ: أَنْتَ وَرِدَاؤُكَ يَكْفِينِي، (٢) قَالَ: فَأَقَمْتُ مَعَهَا ثَلَاثًا، قَالَ: ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ الَّتِي تَمَتَّعَ بِهِنَّ شَيْءٌ، فَلْيُخَلِّ سَبِيلَهَا " قَالَ: فَفَارَقْتُهَا (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Sabrah that we set out from Madinah Munawwarah with the Prophet (ﷺ) on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah. We stayed there for fifteen days. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) permitted us to benefit from women. So, my cousin and I went out and reached a woman who belonged to Banu Bakr and she was very young. When she looked at my cousin’s cloak, it seemed older than mine, and when she looked at me, she found me younger than my companion, and I also had a new cloak. We said to her, “Can one of us benefit from you?” She said, “Is it permissible?” We said, “Yes.” She began to look at my cousin, so I told her that my cloak was new and fine, while his cloak was old and dirty. She said, “There is no harm in that.” So my cousin benefited from her. We had not yet left Makkah Mukarramah when the Prophet (ﷺ) made it forbidden.
