حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ، أَنَّهُ قِيلَ لَهُ: لَا يَدْخُلُ (١) الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَنْ هَاجَرَ، قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ: لَا أَدْخُلُ مَنْزِلِي، حَتَّى آتِيَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَسْأَلَهُ، فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ هَذَا سَرَقَ خَمِيصَةً لِي لِرَجُلٍ مَعَهُ فَأَمَرَ بِقَطْعِهِ، فَقُلْتُ: (٢) يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَإِنِّي قَدْ وَهَبْتُهَا لَهُ، قَالَ: " فَهَلَّا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنِي بِهِ "، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ: لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَنْ هَاجَرَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا هِجْرَةَ بَعْدَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ، وَلَكِنْ جِهَادٌ وَنِيَّةٌ، فَإِذَا اسْتُنْفِرْتُمْ فَانْفِرُوا " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Safwan bin Umayyah that someone said to him that whoever does not migrate will not enter Paradise. Upon hearing this, I said, "I will not go to my home until I first meet the Prophet (ﷺ)." So I mounted my ride and presented myself before the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Some people are saying that whoever has not migrated will not enter Paradise." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "After the conquest of Makkah, the command of migration no longer remains, but jihad and intention remain. Therefore, when you are asked to go out, then you should go out." Then I mentioned about a man: "This person has stolen my cloth." The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered his hand to be cut off. I said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have given this cloth to him as charity." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Why did you not give it as charity before bringing him to me?"
