حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: " كَانَ فِي الْكَعْبَةِ صُوَرٌ فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ أَنْ يَمْحُوَهَا، فَبَلَّ عُمَرُ ثَوْبًا وَمَحَاهَا بِهِ، فَدَخَلَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَمَا فِيهَا مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered Umar at the time of the conquest of Makkah to go to the Ka'bah and erase all the pictures present in it, and he did not enter the Ka'bah until all the pictures in it had been erased.
