حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، " أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ عَبْدًا (٣) لَيْسَ لَهُ غَيْرُهُ، فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَابْتَاعَهُ مِنْهُ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ النَّحَّامِ " (٤)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man made his slave a mudabbar. That man himself was in debt. The Prophet (ﷺ) sold the mudabbar slave for the payment of his master's debt, and Nu'aym bin Nahham bought him.
