حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَمُوتَ بِشَهْرٍ: " تَسْأَلُونِي عَنِ السَّاعَةِ، وَإِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ اللهِ، وَأُقْسِمُ بِاللهِ مَا عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْأَرْضِ مِنْ نَفْسٍ مَنْفُوسَةٍ الْيَوْمَ يَأْتِي عَلَيْهَا مِائَةُ سَنَةٍ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say, one month before his passing, that people ask me about the Hour (Day of Judgment), although its true knowledge is only with Allah. However, I swear by Allah that none of those alive today will remain alive after one hundred years.
