Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، حَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ أَخِي مَاتَ فَكَيْفَ أُكَفِّنُهُ؟ قَالَ: " أَحْسِنْ كَفَنَهُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "My brother has passed away, how should I shroud him?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Shroud him in a good manner."
