حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا (٢) ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، يَقُولُ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ يَخْطُبُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَرَكَعْتَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ؟ " قَالَ: لَا. قَالَ: " فَارْكَعْ " (٣)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering a sermon when a man came and sat down. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked him: "Have you prayed?" He replied, "No." The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered him to pray two rak'ahs.
