حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبَانَ الْوَرَّاقُ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ جَارِيَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: أَتَى ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَنْزِلِي شَاسِعٌ، وَأَنَا مَكْفُوفُ الْبَصَرِ، وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ، ، الْأَذَانَ، قَالَ: " فَإِنْ سَمِعْتَ الْأَذَانَ فَأَجِبْ، وَلَوْ حَبْوًا " أَوْ " زَحْفًا " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Ibn Umm Maktum came to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! My house is far, I cannot see, but I do hear the call to prayer." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If you hear the call to prayer, then respond to its call, even if you have to come crawling on your knees."
